Statisches IP-Routing für Router/Modem

Einige Software oder Geräte können die Verwendung eines bestimmten DNS selbst erzwingen. Beispielsweise verwenden Chromecast mit jeder Anwendung und Roku Media Player für Netflix-Anwendung Google DNS. Um Google DNS zu umgehen, müssen Sie auf Ihrem Router statisches IP-Routing einstellen. 

So when your router receives a DNS request for Google DNS (i.e., 8.8.8.8), your router redirects it to Smart DNS Proxy (i.e., 23.21.43.50). This redirection happens inside your router lightening fast. It's called Static IP Routing.

Static IP Routing is the only way not to get affected/blocked by Google DNS on Chromecast and Roku devices.

How to Setup Static IP Routing/Forwarding on a Router/Modem?

Every router/modem control panel is different, so we are providing a general information here which fits for every device.

1. Log into your router/modem control panel. (You may find instructions on your router/modem manual).

2. Find DNS section of your router control panel and update your DNS to Smart DNS Proxy IPs as following IPs and Save.

You may find all our global DNS Server locations here. Instead of using the above 2 DNS IPs, you can use the closest DNS servers to your physical location. This will provide you more reliability.

3. Find Static Routes / Static IP Routing on your router/modem control panel and Add followings to the Route List:

Destination IP Address: 8.8.8.8
IP Subnet Mask : 255.255.255.255 (or /32)
Gateway IP:  Enter yourRouter IP address here. (This is the IP address you used to login to your router/modem control panel)
Metric: 1
Interface: any other than WAN (preferably LAN)

4. Apply or Save and then add followings again.

Destination IP Address: 8.8.4.4
IP Subnet Mask : 255.255.255.255 (or /32)
Gateway IP:  Enter your Router IP address here. (This is the IP address you used to login to your router/modem control panel)
Metric: 1
Interface: any other than WAN (preferably LAN) 

5. Starten Sie Ihren Router neu. 

From now on, your router will re-direct every Google DNS queries for the Google IPs (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4.) and Netflix APPs to your Routers default DNS IPs which are set to Smart DNS Proxy.

ATTENTION

Remember to visit Smart DNS Proxy MyAccount section and check if your IP address Updated. Most ISPs changes IP address of the modem/router when the modem is restarted.
